Small size (17” w, 21” tall, 8” deep); Crusty red paint surface with salmon undertones; original brass hardware; Sturdy pine construction, rare bottom front drawer; great condition.

Exceptional one-piece cant-back and step-back, open top country cupboard. Constructed of old, 19th century pine and poplar throughout, including beaded planks used for back. Blue paint over original red. Faithful construction, including beading around top and on single door in bottom section, along with its decorative curved cutout feet confirm its Pennsylvania origin. Dimensions: 81” x 38” x 18” Period blue paint compounded from old dry pigment and hand applied by master furniture designer and maker, Philip Andrews, Gillett, PA.

19th Century Red-Painted Hanging Cupboard
A red painted early 19th century poplar hanging cupboard - it has a three shelf interior, irregular width boards at back, a raised panel door and a wide-stepped cornice and base molding. It is circa 1840, with dovetail, pin and cut-nail construction. It has a raised inset panel door and beaded frame. The original red paint shows some age. It is 31"x25"x11".
