Bottom third of sampler depicts landscape scene with two trees on either side of a carriage shed, a weeping willow, a gate, a fence and a large house. Colors: forest green, light green, tan, white, blue, teal, black. An imposing sampler. experts say that only 1 out of 50 samplers have both town and stat on it: truly rare. Museum mounted.

"Wrought by Lurinda Simons Aged 9 Years" Dated 1827 Three alphabets, cross, long, short, stem and satin stitches, crinkly silk thread. Sawtooth border at top. Modern burl frame with gold liner. Museum mounted. Geneology included, indicates origin in Hillsboro, NH.

Dated 1825
Composition: Linear border on all four sides; cranberry and green floral additions on the right and left sides with two large flowers in the lower corners. Inner cranberry frame on three sides, enclosing alphabets and numerals 1 to 10.
In the lower section, the words "Lucinda Russel Her Work" and the date 1825; Colors: Cranberry, forest green, light blue, rust brown, gold and black.
19.25" long x 13.5" high Stitched to acid free board.
Frame: modern burl walnut with gold liner.
State: Maine.

Fanny Homes aged 13 Stoddard, NH. Dated May 16, 1818. Composition: An outer sawtooth border enclosing a geometric floral border. Inner diamond border enclosing 4 alphabets in various sixzes and scripts above 4 lines of verse about the young girl dividing her time between needle work, reading, and writing; Original lemon gilt frame. 21.75" long x 25.5 " high. Excellent condition, though the first alphabet is on the light side. An imposing sampler. Experts say that only 1 out of 50 samplers have both town and state on it: truly rare. Museum mounted.
